I’m not usually a fan of modern architecture – as in, I don’t go trawling the internet for the latest ‘next big thing’. But I do appreciate it and every now and then I see an image or hear a name that kind of blows my mind. The architecture of John Lautner is certainly that – mind-blowing. Have seen his work in many a movie, Charlie’s Angels & The Single Man being some of them, so I took a closer look at his work.
Living and working in Los Angeles during most of his career (spanning 60 years), Lautner’s designs are known for their radical innovation with attention to materiality, space and a consciousness of the natural environment.
