I’m sure almost all of you have heard of the Burning Man gathering that is held once a year in Nevada. But I’m not sure that all of you know that we have our own version here in South Africa called Afrika Burn! This gathering takes place in the Karoo about 160km from the closest town. This means that you have to bring EVERYTHING with you – food, shelter and of course water. Created on the idea of a community that is based on gifting, not exchange, radical self-reliance, participation and self-expression it is indeed a feast for the senses.
